Chapel; Healing Garden

The annual Partners of HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital Love Lights Christmas Celebration will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, in the chapel of St. Joseph's Hospital, 2661 Highway I.

Thousands of lights are displayed on trees in front of the hospital and in the hospital's healing garden in memory of loved ones or to honor friends in the community.

Purchase a white light in memory of the deceased, a red or green light in honor of the living or a blue light to honor someone in the military. The cost is $5 per light but larger donations are welcome. Proceeds will go to the Partners' current hospital project - renovation of the hospital's birth center.

The names of those honored and remembered will be published in a special advertisement in the Chippewa Herald in December. Purchase a light by December 3 and have your friend or loved one included in the published list. All names submitted by that date will be published unless indicated otherwise.

To purchase Love Lights, send a $5 minimum donation per light to Partners of HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital, 2661 Highway I, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729, by Dec. 3 to be included in the publication.  Print the form here

ONGOING CLASSES

Partners Walking Club

The Partners of St. Joseph's Hospital will help motivate and encourage fitness with their new Partners Walking Club. The Partners Walking Club is free and will meet every Wednesday at noon at the Duck Pond gazebo in Irvine Park, weather permitting.

BEGINNING NOVEMBER 5TH - WINTER LOCATION - Club will meet at Chippewa Family YMCA and will use the indoor track. Meet in the front entrance.

Every Wednesday, a member of the Partners of St. Joseph's Hospital will meet for a walk at the Duck Pond (SPRING/SUMMER) or the Chippewa Valley Family YMCA (LATE FALL/WINTER).

"The reason we decided to start a Walking Club was not only to encourage fitness, but also to promote connections," says Diane Fish, coordinator of the Partners Walking Club.  "We know being active helps promote good mental health and it's easier to do when you have someone else to join you."

The program is part of Chippewa Health Improvement Partnership's Compassionate City initiative.

For more information, contact St. Joseph's Hospital's Volunteer Services, 715-717-7939. For more information about CHIP's Compassionate City, visit www.chippewahealth.org.
