Partners annual meeting; Scholarship winners announced
The Partners of St. Joseph’s Hospital announced a new board member, a donation and several scholarship winners at the group’s annual meeting, held July 21 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Evelyn Maloney of Chippewa Falls was sworn in for a two-year term as Treasurer of the Partners of St. Joseph’s Hospital. Joan Pehlke, President, Mary Lynn Toycen, Vice-President, and Marge Geissler, Secretary, all of Chippewa Falls, will continue in their current positions. During the meeting, outgoing treasurer JoAnn Buell presented a $67,000 check to Joan Coffman, President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph’s Hospital – with $40,000 earmarked for the hospital’s soon-to-come Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, $25,000 for its Emergency Service Area expansion and renovation project and $2,000 to support Lifeline, a personal emergency response system for the homebound.
Additionally, six $1,000 scholarships were presented to area students pursuing health-related careers. Jennifer Abraham of Chippewa Falls earned the Frank Sorrentino scholarship; Colleen Barthel of Menomonie received the Irene Casper Hebert scholarship; and Landon Bresina of Chippewa Falls, Seth Burgess of Bloomer, Stephanie Schmitt of Boyd and Cody Williams of Chippewa Falls all were awarded Partners of St. Joseph’s Hospital scholarships.
Scholarships are made possible from income from permanent endowments and supplemented by Hospital Partners’ projects, such as the Partners’ annual Steak Fry and book sales.
