Hospice program wins award from Kiwanis Club

The Chippewa Falls Noon Kiwanis Club has a unique annual charity program, the Bert Swanson Memorial charity award. This year, they selected the St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice program as the recipient of their $500 award.

The Hospice program of St Joseph's assists patients and their families with end of life care, specifically pain control, comfort and dignity. Most hospice patients succumb to cancer, as did the namesake of this award.

Bert Swanson was the Development Director of St. Joseph's Hospital for many years and lead several initiatives to raise funds for the Home Hospice program.
