For those who live, work, and play in the Chippewa Valley, around-the-clock, high-quality emergency service, available anytime to everyone is expected. St. Joseph's Hospital is Chippewa County's health care provider with full-time,
24-hour emergency physician coverage.
The Emergency Service Area at St. Joseph's Hospital is staffed 24 hours a day with board-certified emergency room physicians and specially trained nurses experienced in caring for patients with a variety of medical, surgical, and trauma-related emergencies. Our skilled team treats an estimated 16,000 patients annually.
In July of 2009 we welcomed Infinity HealthCare, one of the largest emergency medicine physician groups in the Midwest, to our organization. With a 33-year history of clinical excellence, Infinity HealthCare recruits only board-certified and residency-trained emergency medicine physicians, leading to the highest quality care for patients.
Additionally, our nursing staff is credentialed with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) or Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). They are supported by a full complement of ancillary services, including radiology, imaging and lab services, biohazard and disaster preparedness, and Advanced Life Support ground and air medical service transport.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has designated St. Joseph's Hospital as a level III Trauma Care Facility, making us the only state-designated level III trauma center in Chippewa County.

The Emergency Department at St. Joseph's Hospital is managed and staffed by Infinity HealthCare
WIth a 33-year history of clinical excellence, Infinity HealthCare recruits only board-certified and residency-trained emergency medicine physicians, leading to the highest-quality care for patients.
At St. Joseph's Hospital, Dr. Brian Pauley serves as Medical Director of Emergency Services, with Dr. Chris Felton appointed as Administrative Medical Director.
THE RIGHT RESPONSE
We graciously thank everyone for their overwhelming support and contributions of more than $4.1 million toward the future of emergency medical care in the Chippewa Falls area.
NOTE: With Infinity HealthCare serving St. Joseph's Hospital, one change patients will notice is that they will now receive two bills when they
come to the Emergency Department - one from St. Joseph's and one from Infinity. Previously, the physician fees were part of the hospital bill.
