Mary O'Connell, MS, CCC-SLP
Mary has experience treating all ages, birth through geriatrics, in a variety of settings including in-patients, out-patients, home health, hospice, and nursing homes. Currently, she provides speech, language, feeding, and swallowing therapy services for the Birth-to-Three Program in their natural environment.
Mary has extensive experience in the area of feeding and swallowing disorders. She is trained in the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding and swallowing. She enjoys educating families and caregivers to work toward improving their child's oral motor and feeding and swallowing skills so that they are able to meet their nutritional needs orally and safely. Mary also coaches children, their families, and their caregivers to improve functional and successful communication in their daily lives. She enjoys continuing to implement the latest technology in swallowing and communication disorders and sharing that information through mentoring future speech language pathologists.
Mary lives with her husband and two children. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, long walks, cooking, reading, listening to music, home, and remodeling projects. She is also an avid football fan.
