Melissa is certified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT) by completing the comprehensive sensory integration program with Western Psychological Services and the University of Southern California. She is also Handwriting without Tears Level 1 certified.

Melissa provides occupational therapy on an outpatient basis at the SPOTS House, Elk Mound School District, and Birth-to-Three Program. Through SPOTS House, Melissa runs several community based handwriting clinics in the Eau Claire area during the school year. She has a special interest in working with kids with sensory processing disorder, handwriting difficulties, and Autism.

Before joining St. Joseph's Hospital, Melissa worked at Black River Memorial Hospital where she provided pediatric therapy for contracts with the Jackson County Birth-to-Three Program, Black River Falls and Alma Center-Merrillan-Humbird School Districts. In addition, she provided therapy for inpatients, outpatients (pediatrics and adults) and a local nursing home.

A Black River Falls native, Melissa lives in the Eau Claire area with her husband, two boys, and dog. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, biking, camping, and scrapbooking.
