St. Joseph's Hospital

Pediatric
Care

Children's work is their play. Through play, infants through school age children discover the world around them. They learn though touch, movement, smell, vision, hearing and taste. How they put this knowledge together is important in their skill development, self concept and self esteem.

S.P.O.T.S. HouseS.P.O.T.S. is an acronym for Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapy Services. S.P.O.T.S. is the pediatric therapy program within Rehabilitation Services of St. Joseph's Hospital.

S.P.O.T.S. therapists help families understand why their child may have challenging behavior, low self-esteem or difficulty with developmental skills. Using a secure and successful environment, we work with families to enhance their child's development and establish successful daily routines.

We believe a team approach is the most effective way to help children and families. We encourage parents to be partners in the therapy planning process to build on the strengths of their child and their family. We also work with community resources to provide additional support and assistance.

We provide pediatric therapy services to children with a variety of diagnoses. Some common diagnoses are:

   • Autism
   • Articulation Disorder
   • Cleft Palate Cerebral Palsy
   • Prematurity Apraxia of Speech
   • Spina Bifida Language Delay
   • Hypotonia Down Syndrome
   • Torticollis Chromosomal Abnormalities

We provide skilled therapy services to children under the age of three in their natural environment (homes, daycares) through the Chippewa County Birth-to-Three and Eau Claire County Birth-to-Three programs, and children of all ages at S.P.O.T.S. on St. Joseph's Hospital campus when medical or community-based needs are not being met by other providers such as the school district.

we believe to be best practice into the fabric of each child's daily life.
