of Friends

The Circle of Friends was established to encourage the Friends of St. Joseph's Hospital to commit to building a permanent endowment to help sustain the Hospital's services to the sick and needy in the years and decades ahead.

Members of The Circle of Friends are persons who have made provisions for the health care mission of St. Joseph's Hospital by any of several means:

• Establishing or adding to a permanent endowment fund
  at a minimum level
• Naming the Hospital as a beneficiary of a will, life insurance
  policy, charitable remainder trust, savings account or
  certificate of deposit, charitable lead trust, or a Pooled
  Income Fund gift

Anyone can establish a named endowment. Its as easy as 1-2-3.

1. Decide When to Give— You can create a fund now, establish
   a fund in your will or through a trust arrangement. Tax deductions
   are earned at the time of your gift, while grants awarded from
   your fund will continue into the future.
2. Decide What to Give— Almost any kind of asset can be used
   to start your fund, including cash, publicly traded securities,
   closely held stock, real estate, life insurance, tangible personal
   property, or private foundation assets. We can discuss other
   options with you, such as bequests, charitable remainder trusts,
   charitable lead trusts, pooled income funds and retirement funds.
3. Choose the Name of Your Fund— Most of our funds are named
   for the donor, for the donor's family, or as a memorial to someone
   special. Every grant from the fund will carry this name. If you prefer
   anonymity, you may choose a name that reflects your fund's
   charitable purpose.
